During the first night of WrestleMania 37, the first official look at WWE 2K22 was shown, and WWE promises that this game will hit differently than others.
In a brief look at the next installment in the WWE 2K series, WWE superstar Rey Mysterio was shown engulfed in light. The superstar put his iconic mask on before footage of him landing the 619 on Cesaro was shown. Judging by the footage, it looks as if WWE 2K22 will be taking advantage of next-gen consoles, with Mysterio and Cesaro looking incredibly life-like in the trailer.
WWE 2K22 will mark the return of the series following the launch of WWE 2K20 in October 2019. 2K20 launched to mostly negative reviews, and WWE 2K21 was subsequently canceled due to both the poor sales of the game and the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, however, it looks as if WWE is ready to come back, and bring with it a better product.
